Graduation Day
A few weeks ago, the kids had their pre-school graduation. The parents were invited in, and the kids sang a few songs. I couldn't go, but Greta did.
Marin did great, singing all the songs with all the hand motions, definitely the best in class. Annelie was a bit shy, and hid behind her sister and peeped out. They both had a great time, though, and are looking forward to going to pre-K next year.
This picture is in front of the school, in their pretty graduation dresses.

Trip to the Ozarks
Once again, we accompanied my parents to the Missouri Bar Association conference in the Ozarks. This time the conference was held at Tan-Tar-A and the kids were at much better ages than the last time we went 3 years ago. We had a wonderful time. Here are some photos of our favorite activities.
The weather was in the nineties, so we took full advantage of the several swimming pools they had on the grounds. Our favorite had a huge waterslide which the kids loved. I couldn't believe how brave they were!

The first night there was a party on the pool deck with a great steel drum band. Then they took us all on a boat ride around the lake.

One of the best parts of the resort was the new indoor water park, Timber Falls. The kids loved the two huge waterslides that even went out of the building and back in, the lazy river, climbing aparatus and more. We went back several times for more watery fun.

Here are some other good photos from the trip.

In addition to bowling, an arcade, miniature golf and more on the premises, we ventured into town for the outlet malls, some great food and even a little go-gart riding. Once again, the kids shocked me with their bravery!

Before we headed home, we stopped by the the Bagnell Dam scenic overlook and the infamous "Strip".

A Mad and Marvelous May
The month of May was unusually hectic - even for us. In one month we had Jordan's 6th birthday and party, both Steve's and my dad's birthdays (my dad turned 70!), hosted a Mother's Day brunch, had our 9 year anniversary, my first annual piano recital for my students, a program for Jordan at school, Allison's end of the year gymnastics show, hosted a huge Memorial Day BBQ at our house for our friends, had all the kid's end of the year school stuff, my end of the year music programs, a Dad and I weekend out of town and much much more. It was exhausting! Click to see photos of some of the main events.
Allison had her "Family Day" at school. Since I work at the school and see what she does and who she's with all the time, I sent Steve and the grandma's to have fun. Allison really enjoyed showing off her teachers, friends and classroom.

Next came Jordan's birthday, first a celebration at school and then a magic party at the JCC. The magician was awesome and even made Jordan float in the air!

Next was Mother's Day. We hosted a brunch with my parents, my sister-in-law and her family and parents and Steve's parents. We were a little tired, since Jordan's birthday party was the day before, but never too tired to celebrate the mommies!

>Jordan's gifted class put on a "Reader's Theater" show where he and his friend Arjun did a beatiful job reading a great play.

Allison took a class at The Little Gym all year and had a final performance to show us what she'd learned. She was so excited to get her medal.

Here's a few random photos of Steve and I on our anniversary before we went out for a steak dinner and to see a movie, and one of Jordan with his face paint when my mom took him to see "Dr. Doolittle".

Steve took Jordan to Camp Sabra in the Ozarks for the second year in a row for the Dad and I program. He shared a cabin with my cousins' Doug and Derek and some of their children. They had an amazing time and went sailing, on a ropes course, did archery, arts and crafts, had a talent show, went canoeing and lots more. They even stopped at our State Capital on the way home.

Here are some photos from Jordan's "Spirit Day". We have really loved Jordan's elementary school and he had an amazing kindergarden year.

I was so proud of my 10 piano students at their recital. They did a great job and I surprised them by playing a song of my own.

On a ride at Victorian Gardens
In the summer, the Wollman Rink in Central Park closes, and becomes
Victorian Gardens, a pretty nice fair with lots of rides. As we approached the fair a few weeks ago, as soon as Marin got an inkling of what she was seeing ahead of her, she got very excited and said "There! I want to go there!" Both the kids went on a lot of rides and had a huge amount of fun.
