Our 7 Year Anniversary

For our upcoming 7 year anniversary (May 25th), Steve surprised me over the weekend and took me on a 24-hour adventure.

Our first stop was the mall where a pair of diamond earrings were waiting to be picked up. I was shocked! Then it was off to a new AMAZING hotel downtown called the WS where they have luxury hotel suites, a restaurant/bar, fitness center, spa, and the coolest decor. Here are some photos of the lobby and our room.

Once we checked in, Steve informed me that he had scheduled a couples massage for us in the spa downstairs. What a treat! After that, we had a few drinks in the room and then off to dinner at St. Louis Steak House - one of our favorites!

After dinner, we were so full that we walked all around the downtown area. It was fun to be a "tourist" in our own city.downtowne-mail.jpg

The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel, worked out in their fitness center, lounged around the room and made a quick stop for ice cream before we headed home. It was the perfect get-away. Kudos to Steve for such amazing planning!

Jordan Turns Four!

Well, hard as it is to believe, our baby Jordan is now four years old. He celebrated with his family on his real birthday, May 13, then at school the next day and on the 15th, he and his many friends celebrated at his party at Woody's Cafe (a mini Chucky-Cheese-type place). Lots of fun was had by all!

Since Jordan loves music, and walks around with his guitar around his neck half the time, we had this amazing lady make us a guitar-shaped cake. It was beautiful AND delicious. We also gave all the children an inflatable guitar, rock star sunglasses and a guitar-shaped necklace that blows bubbles.

There was lots to do to keep the kids entertained at the party.ballpite-mail.jpgclimbinge-mail.jpgfriendse-mail.jpgjorclimbinge-mail.jpgjoraverye-mail.jpg

Since Jordan was busy running around, we got a lot of pictures of Allison and the family.

Everyone had a great time, especially the birthday boy!

Mother's Day

Well, despite Jordan and I both having a fever, we managed to have a very nice Mother's Day. The day started off with Steve and I hosting a brunch for both of our parents, as well as Steve's brother's family and in-laws. Here are some photos of that morning.

Not sure what Allison is doing here, but isn't she amazingly limber?! limbere-mail.jpg

More pictures from Andy's visit

I just got my brother Mike's pictures from last weekend. They were much appreciated, especially the Hyatt family photo, something I've wanted for a very long time. The one I'm posting is a trial composite of the three he took! In each one, someone wasn't looking so I tried to combine the best from all three. It was really difficult getting any decent pictures especially of Jordan, who now really tilts his head, Annelie and Allie, who didn't smile much, and Marin, who was too busy to pose and/or also didn't smile. Getting the kids to look at the camera was another giant challenge!

Well, that's the end of the family weekend pictures...I hope we'll do this again someday. We will all miss Marin and Annelie.

Weekend in St. Louis

We went to St. Louis this weekend with the kids, for the first time. It was great to see the kids with their cousins, and everyone enjoyed seeing the kids again, or meeting them for the first time. Marianne and Mom already have their blog entries about it, with tons of pictures. As usual, they took way more pictures than I did, but here are my best ones:

The twins first visit to St. Louis!

Last weekend, the twins came to visit us for the first time. Jordan and Allison, along with the rest of our extended family, finally got to meet them. It was wonderful to have all of our grandchildren together even though the time went by way too fast.

After the traditional Hyatt Saturday morning flapjacks, Jordan enjoyed talking to his cousins, and reading to Annelie, who loves books.

He loved getting to know his Uncle Andy.

Art and I spent the short visit showing the girls our subdivison, our home, and our family. We really loved seeing all of our family together. What a treat for us!

There will more pictures of the weekend in my next entry.

Andy's Visit

Last weekend, my brother Andy and his family came for a short visit from California. It was their first time meeting their St. Louis family. We packed a lot of activities in while they were here, including playtime at the Chervitz household, Tour de Fun at the JCC and an open house at Grandma Ady's. Here are some photos from the weekend.
