The kids are starting to grow up a bit. Marin started rolling over last weekend, and they both are practicing sitting up. Here are some photos from the past few weeks. The one with Annelie with a towel around her head was not some sort of setup, she somehow put the towel around her head on her own. Wow, already playing dress-up...

Marin's favorite activity: grabbing my nose.
She also enjoys putting her hand in my mouth, but I don't have any pictures of that.
Greta's brother Augustus came into town for a week from Trinidad. We haven't seen him since our wedding, almost 4 years ago. He was very happy to meet his nieces, and they were happy to meet him too - except Marin who took about a day to get used to him. We went to Muir Woods with him. This is our third attempt to go there, the first was a long time ago, before I was married, with my future mother-in-law (we were running too late driving down Highway 1 to San Francisco to go), the second was with Greta's sister Vergilia (I lost my gas cap on the way there, and both Greta and her sister insisted it was very dangerous, and I should go back home). This time we made it, though.
While he was there, the babies started to eat vegetables. Their first was sweet potato, which they are still eating now.

We're trying to get the kids to learn how to sit by themselves. They have varying success, their balance on the whole isn't too good. But they sure look cute, even when they fail!

Also, they got a new toy, actually an old crying baby doll that my boss Kevin gave me when my kids were born. He wanted it to keep me company, and remind me what I was missing when I was at work. It cries, and says "mama", and laughs. But I find it's not very realistic, the crying sounds like a 2 month old, saying "mama" probably comes at around a year, and the way it laughs is more like a 2 year old then anything else. But the kids don't know any better, and it's fun for them right now.
