A-Yi comes to visit

Greta's sister came to visit this Memorial Day weekend. She was a big help, and we had a nice time. We didn't do all that much, but we did manage to get some photos taken. Here are some photos of her and the kids, and some of the kids that were taken previous to her visit.

Notice Marin has moved on from chewing on the fish in the exersaucer, to chewing on the more challenging octopus. Also notice how Annelie is holding the bottle. It only happened once so far, though. Today Annelie did roll over from her back to her stomach, so she's making good progress. Click on the pictures to enlarge:

Branson Family Vacation

This year, on Memorial Day weekend, we decided to try Branson, Mo. for the annual Hyatt-Chervitz Family Vacation. We stayed at Chateau on the Lake, went to Silver Dollar City, Dixie Stampede, another mini amusement park, went hiking, swimming, had fun dancing to a band by the pool, among many other fun activities. Everyone had a fabulous time and hopes to go back next year. The highlight of the trip was that Jordan decided to use the potty the entire time!

The trip was exhausting from start...
to finish.

Things got more exciting at Silver Dollar City. Jordan loved the water ride, the hot air balloon ride, the walk across a huge net and the many balls, while Allison enjoyed the sand, slide, and water pump.

The Chateau was beautiful and provided many exciting activities for everyone... cookies and milk brought by a bear, fun on the playground, a movie theater, fish feeding, swimming, dancing, plenty to eat (kid's favorite meal...Fruit Loops) and just hanging out...

Marianne and Steve celebrated their sixth anniversary on May 25. Jordan and Allison clicked their lollipops (or popalaps, as they like to call them) to say "cheers" to their great parents!

Before leaving Branson, we decided to take the kids to another small amusement park, even though they both were "under the weather".

What a great vacation!! After doing so many new and exciting things, Jordan's favorite memory was "the elevator"!

Senior Olympics, 2003

Today was my fifth annual Senior Olympics. My tap group, The Happy Tappers, which ranges in age from 53-82, won a silver medal. Here are some pictures before the competition, during the dance number, and after winning our medals.

Jordan's 3rd Birthday Party

Well, despite the threat of looming rain, we managed to pull off a great carnival themed birthday party at our house for Jordan's party. We invited his class from school, his playgroup, the neighbor kids, and a few other friends and cousins. We had games like a duck pond, lollipop tree, ring toss and a beanbag toss that Steve painted to look like Jordan. Steve dressed up like a clown and made balloon hats! We also had things out like bubbles, balls and sidewalk chalk for the kids to play with. The hit of the party by far, however, was a giant dinosaur shaped moon bounce which Jordan jumped on for hours!

Cute twin pictures

Not too much new news over here. Marin rolled over yesterday from her stomach to her back. She's also making some new sounds with her mouth. Annelie is doing well and is slowly figuring out the Exersaucer. They both can easily go on their sides now.

Yesterday, Greta took some very cute pictures of them, and of Marin's new thing to do on the Exersaucer, which is to try and eat the little fish that is mounted there.

Don't they look like the best of friends? Click on the pictures to enlarge:

Jordan's 3rd Birthday

Today Jordan turned three years old. He had pre-school in the morning (I bought a cookie cake to celebrate), lunch outside at McDonalds (or "Old MacDonalds" as he likes to call it!), then naptime. After a nap in Mommy and Daddy's big bed came presents (he loved this coin twister bank that we got him) and then off to a Teddy Bear Picnic at the Parkway Early Childhood Center with Grandma Ady and Grandpa Arthur. What a fun day!

Fun at the Circus

Grandpa Arthur is a Shriner and gets the whole family tickets each year for the Shrine Circus. Jordan was really into it and Allison had fun running around, but didn't watch much of the show. They did, however, enjoy their mini-Fez hats.

Mother's Day, 2003

In the afternoon, Art and I went to U. City for the annual Walk of Fame induction ceremony. Then we went to Marianne and Steve's and enjoyed a great dinner cooked by Steve. As usual, there was a lot of activity going on. Jordan and Allison never sat down to eat. They were much too busy...Jordan on the computer, showing off his great skills, and Allison running around. As usual, I tried to get some memorable pictures and...as usual, Jordan wouldn't look at the camera or smile, Allison gave us her sad look but finally, after many, many tries we actually got her to smile on camera! Quite an exhausting but fun evening.

Daddy Babysits

Last week Allison had a bad cold and Mommy and Daddy took turns taking off of work to watch the kids. This is what took place when DADDY was in charge. A neighbor even stopped by to ask if I was home because she knew that I would never allow such a mess! Here are some photos...

The Chervitz Family Finally Figure Out How to Use the Blog!

Well, it took awhile, but I think we finally got the hang of this Blog thing. Now you can keep up with the ever-changing world of Jordan and Allison (and Marianne and Steve, although we move at a much slower pace!) I have been warned not to put too many photos up, but I'll try to put the best ones from whatever adventure we are writing about. I hope you enjoy and come back to "visit" often!

Side action babies

The twins have turned 6 months old and besides that one incident already mentioned, no one has rolled over again. However, they are starting to roll on their sides more and more. Here are some pictures demonstrating that, and a few other cute pictures taken on their half-birthday. Click each picture to enlarge.

Las Vegas "Vacation"?

Our April Las Vegas trip was not what we had envisioned. We started it on Thursday by ourselves, met our friends, Carole and Lenny, on Friday, and spent the rest of the "vacation" at the Desert Springs Hospital! On the last night, after Art was discharged, we enjoyed a wonderful meal in the hotel before checking out the next day. This "trip from Hell" was quite memorable.
