Marin and her foot

I noticed that Marin discovered her foot last night. Like Annelie, she just grabs one particular foot. I wonder if this indicates a preference for hands, or perhaps feet. Now I want to ponder which of my feet is my favorite.

Annelie rolled over!

Annelie rolled over all by herself today. Not just once, but twice! Both times, we put her down on her stomach, and she was initially unbalanced, and rocked a bit and rolled over. But if we put her down and she balances herself, she makes no effort to roll over. Evidently, she doesn't think it's a big deal. Marin did well too, rolling over to her side. I think in the next week she will also roll over completely. She seems much more interested in the whole mobility thing. Annelie is content to just lie down and relax. I think she takes after me.

Pictures of new skills

Some pictures of Annelie and Marin demonstrating their new talents. Annelie can now hold her foot. Marin can now use the Exersaucer. But not vice versa, Marin hasn't discovered her foot, and Annelie just sits in the Exersaucer and waits for something to happen. Click the thumbnails to enlarge.

A few new behaviors

Marin has started to do some new stuff. A few weeks ago she started to sort of slap things. When sitting on my lap during dinner, several times she has slapped my bowl of soup or food, causing it to spill all over me. It's a bit annoying. However, the same skill has come in handy while using the Exersaucer. She just waves her arms up and down and pounds all over and gets all sorts of interesting things to happen. Annelie hasn't done the same, she still sits quietly.

Marin today almost fell out of the bouncy seat, so I feel that she will roll over fairly soon. She has already rolled over to her side. Annelie has started to twist her body in a certain way, she also might roll over not too long from now. We're keeping an eye on them.

They both are staying up a little later. They never have adjusted to daylight savings time. That's fine, though, 6 am was a little early. Now they wake up at 7, and it's fine with me.

Lunch with Erik and Family

OK, so this isn't the most timely blog entry. But last Sunday, we went up into the mountains of Los Gatos to see my friend Erik, his wife Laura and his children Marin and Anders. It was because we liked Erik's daughters name that we decided to name our child Marin. Erik and Laura have good taste. The good taste was especially evident in the wonderful food they cooked for us, a nice steak, a cheese souffle (perhaps my first souffle I've ever had), and strawberry soup for desert. We had a great time, and so did the kids. Marin (ours) was very excited and kept awake the whole time. She finally collapsed into a deep sleep when we left. Here's a picture of everyone except Greta, click on it to open it in a new window:
