My visit to N.Y.-Feb.2008

I recently went to N.Y. over the twins' Winter Break. It was so great seeing them and how they've matured. We had a great time playing in the snow, visiting Google for lunch, going to the Children's Museum in Manhattan, eating at different restaurants, and just being together. Luckily, the girls love to pose so I was able to get some great pictures! Of course, they also like to make silly faces most of the time.

Hyatt-Chervitz Trip to Cancun

On Dec. 28, 2007, we went on a family vacation with Marianne, Steve. Jordan, and Allison to help us celebrate (in advance) our 40th wedding anniversary. Although the kids were sick and the weather wasn't so great, we all had a wonderful, fun-filled, time!

"Ding,Ding,Hao" (Excellent!)

Recently, Art and I went to China for 12 non-stop, exhausting, fun and fact filled days! It was one of the most interesting trips we ever took. Our group was great, our guides exceptional and the contrasting scenery was unbelievable. (Not to mention the tremendous building boom, hordes of people, terrible pollution, and traffic jams.) Since there was so much to see, I went overboard with taking pictures (as usual) and tried to capture as much of the "old look of China" as well as the new modern skycrapers. I'll let the pictures "speak" for themselves...

My visit to N.Y.

A few weekends ago, I went to N.Y. to visit Andy and family. I had a great time and was amazed at how much the twins have grown. The weather was beautiful and the area where they live was bursting with beautiful flowers and trees.

One more year to go!

Well, I now have one more year to go until I am officially a Senior Citizen! My birthday highlight was seeing Jordan in his first performance as a magician..."The Mystical Nadroj", at his school. He did his "7 pennies" trick. Although he said he was nervous, he was great! Art said it was better than any movie or TV show.

Paradise again!

Art & I recently went back to one of our favorite spots...Hawaii. We had promised ourselves that we would come back to this beautiful area after we went there on our honeymoon and 38 years later...we finally made it! We met our travelling buddies, Carole and Lenny, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Wakiki for a few wonderful relaxing days before boading the NCL Cruiseship, "The Pride Of America." Although the service onboard was horrendous, we still managed to have a wonderful time seeing the islands again and just being away together.

November jewelry shows

I had 5 jewelry shows in November. Some were sucessful, some were not but all involved lots of hard work carrying, setting up, and tearing down the displays. Here are some pictures at Graphic Traffic, Shaare Emeth, and Barry Hyatt's...(it's pretty pathetic that I'm now taking more pictures of my jewelry than of my grandchildren!)

What a weekend!

Marianne and Steve went to a wedding in Baltimore last weekend and we babysat. We had a great time with the kids. We started the activities with an ice cream social at Jordan's new school, went to Creve Coeur Park, (where I chased after Jordan while he rode his bike), the Clayton Art Fair, the J to play racquetball and finally a picnic at the J. Besides all that, Allison & Jordan found plenty of time to ride their bikes and play at our house. Needless to say, Art & I now need a vacation! Now I know why young people have kids!

Visit from New York

Last weekend, Andy, Greta, and the twins came for a visit. We had the greatest time with them, even though our electricity was out from Sat. afternoon until Tues. night, due to a terrible storm. The girls were so much fun to be with and watch in action. They are also beautiful, smart, and well-behaved, not to brag or anything! They played beautifully together
and seemed to love playing with Jordan and Allison, who couldn't get enough of showing them around and sharing their toys and teaching them new things, like playing in their band, marching and dancing around tables. We had so much pleasure watching the cousins get to know each other and play together. Jordan has picked up on my need and love of pictures and kept trying to arrange photo opts! Although we took lots of pictures, someone's head was usually blocked, as your will soon see.

My First Attempt as a Vendor

Today I tried something new and totally overwhelming for me...I tried my luck as a vendor at a boutique for the JCA at Meadowbrook Country Club. The day started off with a bang...after loading up my van last night very carefully, I opened the trunk to unload this morning and everything fell out onto the driveway! Not a great beginning! After trying to pick up everything and reorganize, Art & I brought everything in and then I spent 2 hours setting everything up. (Of course, I had way too much jewelry and had to stuff most of it under the table.) Steve dropped by and took these pictures, for which I was very thankful. Marianne was my assistant and all in all it was a successful, tiring, learning experience. I came home exhausted and spent 6 hours putting everything away. This hobby is taking over my life, I'm afraid, but I still enjoy the creative part the best. (Like Andy taking pictures of food he enjoys, I seem to be taking pictures of jewelry all the time!)
